Dried, unspread beetles for sale. Spreading the legs and antennae are very easy, even for children. Opening the shell and spreading the wings are a bit more difficult. To position the legs, antenna, shell and wings, simply place the beetles upside down in a closed tupperware in very hot water for a few hours until soft. Then position the legs as you like and hold them in place with supporting pins. Allow a day or two to dry. The shell can be pulled up and out and the large wings can be pulled out and held in place with pins below the main veins.
