Visit the Custom Displays Page The upperside of the Callithea leprieuri has a beautiful deep, iridescent blue surrounded by a metallic greenish coloring. In bright light the blue on this butterfly is incredible. In the absence of bright light some parts of the blue darken up quite a bit while the outer rim close to the greenish coloring remains a bit brighter. Almost the entire underside is metallic (quite rare amongst butterflies), with 2 different shades of the odd blue/green coloring and a dab of red close to the body. Origin: South America. Riker mounts are not sealed and can be easily opened to extract or reposition the butterflies simply by removing 2-4 pins that are on the sides of the frame. Although the riker mounts aren't sealed, the butterflies will still last for many, many years as long as you keep them out of direct sunlight. All riker mounts have a sawtooth hanger on the back and hanging nails are included with your order. Riker mounts can also be displayed on a flat surface if you have a stand to hold them.
