 Riker Display A 8x6 - Blue Morpho didius Guaranteed wingspan of at least 5 1/4 inches, take out a ruler, that's huge! Given the spectactular nature of their wings, blue morphos are extremely delicate. These specimens are slightly below our "top quality" grade, they all have great color, just some minor imperfections such as a scratch (or fine scratches) or a few small spots. We have several of these available, they'll look like one of the morphos pictured here. These morphos are extremely impressive in person, you won't be disappointed!  Riker Display B 6x5 - Blue Morpho menelaus We have several of these displays available so you won't receive the exact display pictured above. These specimens all have great color but some minor imperfections like some small scratches or a few small spots. This species is very metallic and tin-foil looking, a little more metallic than the larger didius (Riker Display A). Morpho menelaus is possibly the most "troublesome" butterfly we carry in that most of the specimens we buy have scratches. Riker Display C 3x4 Beautiful underside of Cethosia biblis from the Philippines. There's nothing wrong with these specimens other than the fact that they're unspread so you only see half of the butterfly (the other half looks the same!) Because they're unspread they can be sold for a lot less. We have several of these displays available so you won't receive the exact display pictured above. They're not quite as brilliant or colorful as the Morpho didius offered in Display A above or any of our other products featuring didius so we're selling them here at a great price, these specimens are in perfect or near perfect condition (any flaws are barely noticable). Riker Display P 6x5 - Morpho adonis This very blue, metallic morpho is almost as big as morpho menelaus. While Riker Display A & B morphos generally have one or two issues, these morphos have numerous fine scratches/scuffs on their wings but due to the nature of the wings these scratches are difficult and generally evenly distributed throughout the butterfly. Unless noted otherwise, all of the displays above feature damaged butterflies
in hangable Riker mounts which are white cotton filled (the cotton is pure white, not grayish as some photos indicate) hard black cardboard frames with a glass top.
The vast majority of butterflies in these displays have problems such as scratches, nicks, discolorations etc. making them unusable for our regular products. However, the glass very much obscures and hides some of the imperfections of the butterflies. Many butterflies you won't even notice any problems and with others the problems will be so minor you really won't care.
Some displays will have butterflies in better condition than others and this will affect the set price.
Note that in person some imperfections will be a little more visible than in these online photos, however we have a full return policy (which is virtually never used) so you can expect to be happy with your purchase!
Unless noted otherwise, the riker mounts pictured are the EXACT DISPLAYS you will receive and will be removed from this page once purchased. By removing 4 pins, they can be easily opened to remove, replace, or rearrange the butterflies. These displays are ideal for young children (great for show & tell, not too young though due to the pins) or for someone who is simply interested in rapidly starting a butterfly collection without spending much money. All of our riker mounts have a sawtooth hanger securely attached to the back. We also include hanging nails so all you need is a hammer and a few seconds to easily hang your riker mounts on a wall. All Riker displays are 8x12 unless noted otherwise. These butterflies need a home too! We are constantly adding new riker mount displays so check back often (we usually add about 20 or so riker mounts at the same time, roughly every 2-3 months, so if the page is a bit empty that probably means we'll be adding more soon). Digital photographers in need of butterflies might do fine with the "damaged butterflies" above, as many of the imperfections can easily be removed digitally.
NOTE: The metallic blue morpho butterflies sometimes look washed out and whitish when photographed but in person they have rich, even blue coloring, no white areas like the photos might indicate. The problems usually have nothing to do with the color of the morpho and are generally just some fine scratches/spots.
